Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does Candeo ensure my subscription is anonymous?

A: At no point during the sign up process do we ask for a name or billing address. During the sign up process you will create an account which includes a username and an email address. The username does not have to identify you in any way and the email address only has to be a working and valid email address. Your interaction with your coach and the discussion forums can be based on your username or any name you provide. Last of all, your bank statements will show charges from You-Turn LLC not Candeo.

Q: Why is masturbation and other sexual behaviors so addictive?

A: The latest neuropsychology and brain research clearly show that sexual behaviors trigger a tidal-wave-release of powerful chemicals in the brain and nervous system. In a process virtually identical to that of illicit drugs, an individual becomes dependent on this natural brain chemical flood for pleasure, self-medication and escape.

Q: Who in society is being pulled into masturbation and other sexual addictions?

A: No one is immune. In our clinics, we have treated men and women of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, we regularly see teens, and even children as young as 5-years of age, suffering with these addictions.

Q: What is the typical profile of someone involved with sexual addiction?

A: After more than a dozen years of experience with thousands of individuals, the typical profile of a sexual addict is: they’re very bright, very sensitive, and very spiritual. Once you understand the neuropsychology and “brain chemicals” behind sexual addiction, this typical profile makes perfect sense.

Q: Are sexual addictions “curable?”

A: Yes! We are fond of saying, “The same type of process that got you into your addiction will get you out.” Through the implementation of correct principles and consistent practice, you can break free. It’s a simple matter of applying cutting-edge brain science, retraining the neurological pathways and habit patterns in your brain. You cannot recover from your addiction with the brain you have today, you must build new brain circuitry that no longer prefers your unwanted sexual behaviors.

Q: I’ve heard the statement, “Once an addict, always an addict” is this true?

A: This statement is absolutely false and does not stand up against factual brain science, and the thousands of success stories in our clinics. Through the tested and proven brain-rebuilding process known as the M.A.P. (Motive, Awareness, Practice) coupled with the daily tool “Face-it, Replace-it, Connect” addiction circuitry shrinks, while new healthy brain circuitry expands and becomes dominant. Complete freedom from addiction is a reality!

Q: But I’ve suffered with sexual addiction for over 40 years, is it too late for me? Am I too far gone?

A: Not even close! We have helped many with longer addiction histories than this progress to full recovery. For example, one man well into his 70’s, had struggled with pornography and other sexual behaviors for over 60 years. Using the principles and tools in this program, he was highly successful. Consistently follow each step of this program, and regardless of how long you have carried the burden of addiction, you will find yourself on the path to freedom!

Q: Can I overcome my guilt and shame? How?

A: Yes! Your guilt and shame will be removed when two things happen through this program: 1) You will learn the whole truth about yourself and your addiction, you’re not a pervert, freak or lost cause. This is about much more than just dirty pictures or sex. Sexual addiction behaviors are a “drug addiction.” As we often say “pornography use is substance abuse.” 2) As you consistently follow the simple steps of this program, you will begin making progress that will amaze you!

As you receive correct knowledge and experience the continuous success that comes through this program, your guilt and shame will be swept away.

Q: Can I ever regain the trust and respect of my spouse, children, parents and others? Will I ever come to trust and respect myself?

A: Trust and respect are developed by doing what you say you will do. As you progress through each level of this program you will complete exercises and assignments that will show your spouse, children, parents and others that you are serious about your recovery. But even more importantly, those you care about will see your progress, notice the positive changes in you, and be amazed at your success. Others will begin to trust you because you will earn their trust, you will become “trust-worthy.” Best of all, as you feel the powerfully positive changes happening within you, you will begin to trust and respect yourself again.

Q: Can I ever have a “normal” relationship with my spouse again? With women in general?

A: Yes! Through this program, you will learn the principle and practice of “Sacred Sexuality.” You will build new healthy brain circuitry that no longer objectifies and lusts after women. You will learn the art of true human intimacy and connection, intimacy that goes far beyond the purely physical sex act portrayed in pornography and the media. You will learn how to be a true brother, protector and friend to women, and a hero in their eyes. You will learn that “having sex” and “making love” are misnamed and grossly misunderstood In the world today. Instead, you will learn that sexual intimacy is the most beautiful and glorious “expression of total commitment” that husband and wife can enjoy.

Q: As a spouse or parent, I ask myself, “Is this my fault?”

A: Unless you deliberately led the individual into pornography or sexual addiction (which is very rare) then your spouse or child’s addiction is most certainly not your fault. Addiction is about an individual’s choices. One of the most difficult concepts for a wife to understand, is that her husband’s pornography and sex addiction behaviors are not about her. If she were the most attractive and responsive woman on earth, her addicted husband would still turn to his pornography addiction as a way to “self-medicate” with his “drug of choice.” As we often teach, “pornography addiction is not about sex, any more than alcoholism is about the liquid in the glass.”
